T.I.C. statement about the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak

18 March 2020

The T.I.C. Executive Committee and office have been closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation as it unfolds. The situation with coronavirus is changing by the day.

The T.I.C. has staff in Belgium, the UK and the USA.  In Belgium the authorities have announced tight restrictions on non-essential travel and social contact until April 5th, while in the UK and US recommendations are expected to be tightened in the foreseeable future.

Therefore, the T.I.C. has decided to adopt a contingency plan which will see all staff working from home for at least the next three weeks, and potentially longer should the situation require it. This plan has been thoroughly tried and tested and we are confident that members and stakeholders will not notice any difference in our operations, all being well.

In the meantime, please take care, wash your hands and look after each other!

Dr Daniel Persico, President
